This course is designed for persons receiving, preparing, handling and distributing food in the Community and Health Care Service sectors (i.e. aged care, hospitals, meals on wheels, child care). Food hygiene, contamination and the transmission of bacteria and germs are often a cause of serious illness. Any individual who is trained as a Food Handler will gain knowledge and skills to ensure the quality of food products in Health or Community Care Environments.
The employer will benefit by making sure Food Handlers have the right food safety skills and knowledge not only for legal requirements but for good business practice.
